We can all sometimes be guilty of procrastination. We can often have the very best of intentions to do something ‘tomorrow’. But that ‘tomorrow’ just may not come. In gardening, and in sustainability in general, putting things off can often mean that we fall short, in spite of our best intentions.
I often hear people who have great plans. But those plans simply don’t always come to fruition. Yes, we’re all busy. But make sure that you don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
Remember, small and slow solutions mean that we don’t need to achieve our final goals all at once. By taking things small step by small step, we can improve our lives, enrich our environments, and begin to make our world a better place.
Even something as simple as jotting down a few ideas about our gardens, reading something interesting that helps us build the skills and knowledge we need, or making a list of seeds we’d like to sow in spring can take us in the right direction.
But we all need to make a little time now to live better. And dreaming alone just won’t cut it. So we all need to stop making excuses, stop procrastinating, and actually take pro-active steps to make things happen.
