Case Study: Maximalist City Garden

The inside of the client’s home is a riot of colour and pattern, with something different to look at everywhere you turn. The client has their home exactly how they want it – as fodder for their creativity and inspiration for their artistry. But they struggled to determine how to translate their preferred aesthetic into their tiny concrete-paved yard.

Above, you can see my concept design for this small space, which aims to embrace the maximalist design aesthetic while also offering a haven for wildlife, and of course, plenty of perennial food sources too.

Over 50 different plant species are included in the planting plans for this design, integrated into the dense, layered planting, with choices designed to maximise colour, vibrancy and interest all year round.

If you would be interested in learning more about the plant choices for this English city garden, or would like to plan something similar for your own space, please do get in touch.
