This is a concept plan that I have just created for a family in Malaysia. I am still working on some of the details with the client, and have yet to complete the full planting plans, but this concept design gives an overview of the diverse uses to which the area will be put.
The site of approximately an acre is in a domestic neighbourhood and slopes down from the road to the east to a broadly more level area and existing pond in the south west corner.
The clients are keen on producing as much food and as many other resources as possible and also keen for the whole family to be able to enjoy the recreational possibilities of the site. This is a site that has to work hard to meet all the different requirements of the family in a realistic and sustainable way. My plan aims to maximise yield while also, of course, doing the right thing for people and planet.
