Texas Permaculture Design

The design above is one that I created as an initial concept design for a client located in USDA Zone 8b, in Texas.

The property is in a part of Texas which is a transition zone, where fertile prairie soils gradually shift to sandy, oak-dominated uplands. It is located at the intersection of the Texas Blackland Prairie and Post Oak Savannah / Eastern Cross Timbers ecoregions.

In an area of rolling hills, the property itself is around 10 acres, which are predominantly flat apart from a slight slope down to an existing 1/4 acre pond in the south-eastern corner of the property.

The concept design above is the first stage of a design for the property. The clients were very happy with this design, and plan to proceed with full planting plans and more detailed design in future.

The clients said: “Elizabeth exceeded our expectations and provided a working graphic design that made sense and will be easily applied.”

“…we love everything. I will definitely be contacting you with regards to the to full planting plans and plant list, along with a report that provides further detail on water systems, growing systems, and other elements in the concept plan. I am very excited. I will be in touch soon.”

I look forward to continuing on this project once these clients are ready to do so, but am also happy to take on new work over the next few months. I will send a detailed questionnaire to new prospective clients.

Once I have your answers, I can quote for a concept plan like the example above, and other case studies on this site. I can then create a tailored plan for additional, more detailed planting plans, implementation plans and more, based on your specific needs and preferences.

If you are interested in a quotation for a bespoke permaculture design or flexible consultancy, please do get in touch.
